Don’t ask me how I found this video…
Talk about some nostalgia! Enjoy!

A few days after a tornado hit North East Ohio they came towards South West Ohio; just a couple miles north of Oxford, Ohio. While listing to SkyWarn spotters I found a very useful map that uses Google Maps to show the location of current tornado warnings and past tornado reports. I was nice to have a visual reference for once.

Just when we thought we had everyone in this world accounted for…
Hopefully the world will leave these people alone but I have a feeling that someone will get to them before too long. It would, however, be very interesting to meet these people; it would be like looking back into time.
Here is a question to think about.. will we ever stop colonizing people and taking their land?

I was in Elementary School the last time I toured Mammoth Cave. At that time there were only half day and full day tours. If you go now you’ll notice that there are several cave tours to pick from. This weekend I chose the Violet City Lantern Tour. I recommend this tour if you’ve already gone through one of the more conventional cave tours; when the cave is well lite. A cave tour by lantern light does not let you see the cave in great detail, however, it has a very real way of connecting you to the cave’s history and allows everyone to personally re-discover Mammoth Cave on their own.
Be prepared for a unique lesson in history as well seasoned guides take you back in time for 3 hours and talk about Mammoth Caves’ relationship to the people. You will retrace the footsteps of 2000 year old Native Americans who frequented the cave and Salt Peter miners from the War of 1812. With 300 feet between you and world above it is easy to slip away to a past where hollowed out Poplar trees and water pumps were considered “high tech”.
As I re-entered a world of sun light and cell phones I was reminded of how far we have come… and how much further we have to go.

There was a tall student employee hovering nearby. I could see that he slightly amused and that he wanted to say something really bad. “That’s Apple’s new wireless keyboard…”.
I looked again. The white box was 1 inch thick and exactly 1 foot long. On each side was a an image of something thin and metallic. On another side were the words:
Wireless Keyboard
A keyboard! You’re kidding me right? It must have been the look on my face examining the image that caught the student’s attention. He nodded in approval of Apple’s new creation.
The box was very light; probably because the real product was stashed away in a safe somewhere. “Where’s the keyboard?” I asked in flat tone. The kid looked at me with a blank look on his face; as if I just told him that there was no God and he was going to Hell. No response. “You mean to tell me that the keyboard is inside the box?”. A spark glittered in his eyes and from that I could tell that the answer was yes. I shook the box lightly and indeed… there was something inside. I could not believe it.
I got back to my office and opened the box which was only few inches bigger than the keyboard itself. I quickly found the batteries and put them in the small tube on the left side. I found the power button the right side and pushed it. A small green light, just above the F12 key, lit up. “Another one of Apple’s stealth lights”, I thought to myself with an inward grin. The iMac found the keyboard and asked me to type in a series of numbers and letters. I did so without question.
The day was cloudy and from my desk I had a front row seat to the changing weather patterns. I could have sworn that the instant that the keyboard connected with the iMac a beam of light shot into my room; illuminating my new discovery. I was in wireless keyboard heaven.

Just by looking at it i knew that this was the bike for me. I remember thinking “If this bike rides as nice as it looks I’m getting it right away; no questions asked”. This is the first time I’ve seen a hybrid up close and personal; as I’ve always either had a mountain bike or a road bike. After test riding the FX 7.3 I could feel the smooth effortless ride of the road bike and the studier, easier turning of the mountain bike. It took a couple of minutes to realize that I was able to have my cake and eat it too!
I’m not going to accesorize a whole lot with this bike. Just some fenders, luggage rack, and maybe some night-time riding lights. An automatic can opener would be nice too…
