Went to Dick’s sporting goods today

I really enjoy Web Project Management.

To see the end result after lots of planning, thinking, and coordinating is very rewarding.

Here are a few thing that help me along the way:

• A strong cup of espresso; first thing in the morning.
• A legal pad with a lot of life left in it
• An iPhone
• A good team to work with
• A sense of humor
• A well organized to-do list categorized by priority
• BaseCamp
• Did I mention the coffee?

Sometimes to get some work done I have to go somewhere where there are distractions. It does make any sense to me… all I know is that it works.

Well it’s been a wild ride but here I am on the eve of growing up and I am a little saddened, yet, relieved that I made it.

I’m not ready for fiber and prune juice yet but I am more conscience about my health than before. No more Twinkie eating contests for me!

My 20′s were packed with learning experiences. 4 years of the Marine Corp and 4 years of college with a lot jobs in between taught me a lot about the real world.

Hopefully I can use some of these experiences to make better decisions in my personal life and on the job.

Forbes recently published an article about Berea College, my alma matar.  They made #1 on the list of  America’s Best College Buys.  It makes me proud to know that even in these tough economic times Berea College is still doing what it does best; giving promising students a top-level education for free.

The quality score is calculated by summing each school’s score with respect to Who’s Who in America citations, salary data from PayScale.com, course evaluations from RateMyProfessor.com, the receipt of student and faculty nationally competitive awards, and the graduation rate variables used in the Best College rankings.

The nights are getting cooler and there is the slightest suggestion that the the leaves are wanting to turning yellow. Soon the woods will be filled with those who want to catch the last days of the season before we all snuggle up to a good book for the winter.

I follow Chris Coyier’s Blog and just read his post, Bullhonkey on AT&T.

I just purchased an iPhone and was thinking about upgrading to the new iPhone 3G s but it turns out that to do so I’ll have to pay MORE than someone who is a new sign up.  Where is the customer loyalty?!?

For non-qualified customers, including existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade from another phone or replace an iPhone 3G, the price with a new two-year agreement is $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB).

What could it be… my iTunes and iPhoto libraries were both on pointed to externals hard drives… or were they?

The search was on!

My Mac mini is great but it only has an 80 GB hard drive which does not  last very long when you take as many goofy photos and videos as I do so I have one external hard drive set up for Time Machine and a NAS (network attached server) for my tunes. Everything was working pretty good until I found out that my photos were actually filling up my hard drive instead of my external hard drive.  How that was happening is still a mystery.

There are a couple ways to find what is taking up all your space but the one I found to be the easiest, most visually appealing, and free was Disk Inventory X. After I let it run and do it’s thing it gave me a nice graphical representation of what was using all the space in my hard drive.  As you can see the big blue spot is my iPhoto library which would explain why there was 34 GB of space being taken up that I could not account for!  As soon as figured out where the rouge iPhoto library was I could then move it to the external libray like it should have in the first place.

Whew…
